Hey there, fellow wanderers!
Hello! I’m Shehan, a Sri Lankan traveler with a passion for uncovering the hidden corners of my island. Growing up here, I often realized that most visitors only see the well-known beaches, ancient cities, or busy towns. But Sri Lanka offers much more than the highlights in guidebooks — small villages nestle in the hills, quiet shrines rest beneath banyan trees, secret waterfalls hide for locals to enjoy, and traditions thrive in everyday life.
Through Explore Hidden Sri Lanka, I share my personal journeys into these places. I enjoy walking along forgotten trails, talking with people in rural markets, and experiencing the little details that reveal the heart of the island. Every story I write comes from real experiences — whether it’s tasting food cooked the old way, listening to folklore passed down through generations, or finding a view that makes you stop and breathe.
I started this blog with a simple dream: to represent the beauty of my country to travelers from around the world. Sri Lanka holds countless stories, and I share them to open a window into the culture, history, and hidden wonders that make it truly unique.
For me, travel isn’t just about moving from one destination to another. It’s about connection — to nature, to history, and to people. That’s why I write in a way that feels personal, so readers can sense the journey as if they’re walking alongside me.
My hope is simple: that through these stories, you’ll be inspired to explore Sri Lanka more deeply, to look beyond the surface, and to find the hidden beauty that makes this island truly special.
Happy travels,
Shehan Kavishka
